Who Should Get Listed

The Directory by Great Horizon is open to any registered organization serving our local community in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area.

Retail, restaurants, services, and professionals of all kinds serving the local community.
Farmers, producers, markets, co-ops, and food-based businesses and services.
Artisans, artists, performers, and designers who contribute to the cultural fabric of our community.
Nonprofits, 501(c)(3) organizations, ministries, schools, and local services dedicated to community wellbeing.
Freelancers, consultants, licensed professionals, and gig workers offering their expertise locally.
Festivals, markets, community gatherings, and event organizers who bring people together.
Veteran-owned businesses receive special recognition in the directory. Honoring those who served is at the heart of everything we do at Great Horizon.
The Process

How It Works

Complete the Application
Fill out our vetting form with your organization's basic information, credentials, and a brief description of what you do and who you serve.

We Review Your Application
Every application is personally reviewed. We verify your credentials and confirm you're serving our community. You'll receive an email with our decision.

You'll Receive an Approval Email
If approved, you'll get an email with next steps. If your application isn't a fit, we'll let you know and explain why.

Build Your Profile
Log in and complete your listing using one of our approved templates or upload your own for review. Include your description, logo, photos, social links, and anything you'd like to highlight. All profiles are held to our community standards to ensure quality and consistency.

Final Review & Published
We do a final quality check before publishing. Your listing goes live and your organization joins the Great Horizon community.

We look for at least one active credential — a business license, nonprofit registration, professional license, insurance, or surety bond. This is how we ensure every listing meets our community standard.

Everything you need to know about getting listed in the Great Horizon directory.

Is it really free to get listed?
Yes — standard listings are completely free, and always will be. Great Horizon is a nonprofit ministry, and this directory exists as a service to our community — not as a revenue source. There's no cost to apply, no subscription fee, and no hidden charges to maintain your listing.

That said, we're sustained entirely by the generosity of those we serve. If this work has value to you, a donation goes directly toward keeping the directory running and growing. We also offer featured and sponsored placements for organizations that want a higher profile.

Support Our Mission
What credentials do I need to apply?
At least one active credential is required. Accepted credentials include a business license, nonprofit registration, certificate of good standing, professional license, general liability insurance, surety bond, or state registration. During the profile build, you'll enter your credential number and upload supporting documentation.

For licensed professionals: If your field requires a state-issued license — such as medicine, law, contracting, or other regulated professions — that license must be current and in good standing per Arizona law. Listing is contingent on meeting this requirement. We verify credentials as part of our review process.
What if my application isn't approved?
We'll reach out by email with a clear explanation of why your application wasn't approved and what, if anything, you can do next. In many cases, you're welcome to appeal or reapply once your situation changes.

Our goal isn't to exclude — it's to maintain a trustworthy directory. We want to help every legitimate organization find a path to getting listed. If you have questions or need guidance, we're here:

Do I need a logo or photos?
Yes — at least one image is required before your profile can be published. It doesn't need to be professionally produced. A logo, a photo of your storefront or workspace, a team photo, or a shot of your work in action all qualify.

Good-quality phone photos are completely acceptable. The key is that your listing gives visitors a visual sense of who you are. Profiles without any image will not be approved.
Is this directory only for veterans? Open to All
No — any registered organization serving our community is welcome to apply. Our mission grew from a deep commitment to supporting veterans and their families, and veteran-owned businesses receive special recognition in the directory. But we believe in a strong, thriving community for everyone, and all qualified organizations are encouraged to get listed.
What happens after my profile goes live?
Once your listing is published, it's immediately searchable and visible to anyone browsing the Great Horizon directory. Your profile will appear in relevant category and keyword searches, and community members can contact you directly through your listing.

You'll be able to log in at any time to update your information, add photos, or adjust your details. We'll also notify you of any actions needed to keep your listing active — such as credential renewals — so you're never caught off guard.
